Irena Sendler: Woman who saved 2500 babies during the Holocaust

Al Gore and The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UN IPCC) shared a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Since receiving the award, a UK court has ruled that An Inconvenient Truth, the work for which Al Gore received his half of the prize, contained nine factual errors.

Punxsutawney Phil, the internationally known weather prognosticating groundhog, saw his shadow this morning and predicted six more weeks of winter.

How old do you think I look?

Given the week we’ve had, I thought it might be useful to gauge some opinion about dendroclimatology [the science or technique of dating events, environmental change, and archaeological artifacts by using the characteristic patterns of annual growth rings in timber and tree trunks.]. While we can certainly argue the merits of “who said what” etc. the question on my mind is what do people think of the technique of using tree rings for determining past climatic history?

Dr. Norman Borlaug

Renowned agricultural scientist Dr. Norman Borlaug has died at the age of 95. Borlaug, known as the father of the "Green Revolution" for saving over a billion people from starvation by utilizing pioneering high yield farming techniques, is one of only five people in history who has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom ,and the Congressional Gold Medal.

Is crying glacier pic a Photoshopped blunder or natural wonder?

Apparently a brouhaha is bubbling over whether or not the weeping ice lady photo (right) is real or a fake. This is the highest resolution I could find (click to enlarge photo), so have a look and see if you can spot the tell-tale signs of a Photoshopped picture. The photographer's website makes no mention of the photo, nor the trip to Norway, but the consignment agency is assuring those who ask it is indeed a real photo.

Remember the ice shelves in Gore's un-truthy movie? He 'borrowed' the clip from The Day after Tomorrow, and that ice was 100% computer-generated. FYI, Gore apparently forgot to ask permission to use the footage, but writer/producer/director/GW alarmist Roland Emmerich didn't seem to mind.
